Washington, D.C. is filled with historic, architecturally interesting buildings and two of my current listings are truly representative of the variety of condo residences you can find in this beautiful city.
Contemporary Luxury Condo in the Westgate
The Westgate building is located on M St NW between 25th and 26th Streets NW. in the West End neighborhood, just minutes from the city’s best shopping and dining and within walking distance of both Foggy Bottom and Dupont Metro stations.
This seven-story building was converted into 35 high-end condo units in 1997 and each residence has been fully renovated with updated kitchens and bathrooms as well as a gorgeous two-story lobby that you’ll want to linger in.
The building also has a 24-hour concierge, on-site management, a fitness center and yoga studio, space for meetings or parties, and an expansive planted roof terrace overlooking Georgetown and Rock Creek Park. The Westgate is also pet-friendly. In fact, Francis Park and its’ dog park – as well as its fantastic outdoor neighborhood pool -- are just steps away. If you love fine dining, you’re in luck – Nobu, Rasika, and Blue Duck Tavern are all nearby.
My current Westgate listing is a great deal for this luxury condo building. It’s a beautiful 960 sq ft, one-bedroom condo with a den and two full bathrooms. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a balcony enhance the open-plan living space filling the home with light that bounces off the wide-plank oak floors. The kitchen is a true showstopper with high-end Bosch appliances, a paneled refrigerator, and designer cabinetry. This Westgate condo truly is the best of luxury living right in the center of everything.

Dupont Penthouse in a Beaux-Arts Building
If you’re looking for something a bit bigger, Veronique has a 1,210 sq ft, two-level penthouse in one of Washington, D.C.’s most historic buildings. Built in 1920, The Ambassador at Dupont is an eight-story Beaux Arts-style building located on the corner of 16th Street and S Street in the Dupont Circle neighborhood.
The building was converted into 33 luxury residences in 2003, ensuring a blend of modern finishes with a historic exterior. The Ambassador is close to the Dupont Metro station and the vibrant neighborhood is full of fantastic bars and restaurants, including Le Diplomate and Barcelona Wine Bar, Gypsy Kitchen DC, and Aslin Beer Company. Or, if you prefer to stay in and work on those chef skills—there are plenty of markets nearby, including Trader Joe’s, Amazon Fresh, and Safeway.
Veronique’s current listing at The Ambassador has two bedrooms, two baths plus a den. A private roof terrace—complete with a wet bar—offers stunning views of the Masonic Temple and downtown Washington, D.C., making it the perfect spot to relax or entertain friends.
The penthouse is filled with abundant natural light, thanks to oversized windows, and boasts beautiful maple flooring throughout. The living/dining room includes a gas fireplace, creating a cozy atmosphere for winter nights. The gourmet kitchen is a chef's dream, complete with high-end SubZero/Wolf appliances, cherry cabinets, and Ubatuba granite countertops. Both bedrooms are spacious and include walk-in closets, while the main bedroom can comfortably accommodate a king-sized bed. Upstairs, you'll find a den area that's perfect for a home office. And that fantastic roof terrace for unwinding at the end of the workday.
